STUDIO GVDV

Ghent, Belgium - 30 m²
2024 - 2025

The existing layout was fragmented, limiting natural light and dividing the apartment into inward-facing rooms with little spatial connection. The new plan repositions all primary living functions along the façade, allowing light to extend deep into the interior and restoring a sense of openness and generosity.
The apartment unfolds as a continuous, doorless sequence where spaces flow into one another, creating a calm and cohesive spatial experience. Circulation becomes intuitive, following a natural loop through the space rather than fixed routes. Boundaries dissolve, yet the careful placement and orientation of volumes maintain a quiet, balanced sense of privacy. The result is an interior that feels both open and composed, where light, movement and use are seamlessly aligned.
